General Motors announced a plan to lay off about 1,100 workers from its Lansing Delta Township plant, as it shifts production of the GMC Acadia to a plant in Tennessee.

According to MSN, GM will continue production of the Chevrolet Traverse and Buick Enclave at its Lansing plant.

The automaker also announced a plan to sell off its European operations. Although the move will make GM less global, it hopes to improve profitability in the US.
