A familiar name will be bringing a much needed resource back to Flint.

Since the Kroger, and Meijer both closed on Pierson Rd, the north side of Flint has been extremely undeserved when it comes to grocery stores.

Hamady Supermarkets are planning on opening a new grocery store in the old Hallwood Plaza, Kroger store. There is no definite opening day, but according to ABC12, the investors hope to have things ready by August.

The good news is two fold with the new store.  The community gets a grocery store that it desperately needs, and the store will be hiring many flint residents to work there.  They are working out the details of how many people will be employed, and plan on hosting a job fair in the coming month.

There are also plans to open another Hamady Supermarket in Clio before the end of the year.
