I-69 Closures In Genesee County You Need To Know About This Weekend

I-69 will have some major closures this weekend that you will definitely want to avoid.

The good news is that the closures will happen after midnight, so the heaviest of traffic will be able to travel the normal routes.  Also, the workers won't have to suffer through the highest temps we've had all summer.

Both East and Westbound lanes of 69 will be closed for periods of time listed below.

• Eastbound 69 closed at Lapeer Rd starting Saturday July 23rd at midnight through 4am.
• Westbound 69 closed at Lapeer Rd starting Sunday July 24th at midnight though 4am.

The scary part about complete expressway closures at night is the risk of an impaired driver not paying attention.  Please spread the word about the closures so everyone can stay safe this weekend.
