"Old Makonnen is back." At least that's what Atlanta rapper iLoveMakonnen is trying to declare with his new track "Call Me Badly." The auto-tune aficionado dropped his new track yesterday (Oct. 2) via Soundcloud.

Produced by Danny Wolf, Makonnen is on a lovesick crooning tip for the new track trying to sing his most sincere apologizes for a girl he did wrong. What's most interesting is that this loosie is labeled as an R&B & Soul joint rather than a rap song.

"I didn't mean to do you wrong, uh/But I was feelin' s wrong, uh/ Tryna be with you babe/While I'm going state to state," sings Makonnen in the first verse.

The Atlanta upstart has been experimenting with a lot of different sounds this year as well as linking up with Internet sensations like Tunji Ige and 2016 XXL Freshman Lil Yachty. The last loosie we heard from him was "Side 2 Side".

The last time XXL caught up with The Red Dragon back in April, he had just moved to New York City and was looking for a way to have his music connect with an audience that doesn't really care about self preservation.

"We need to accept ourselves," said the 27-year-old. "That’s important because a lot of these parents are trying to relive their youth themselves. It’s fucked up, if the kid got to start raising themselves in this day and age, if your parents didn’t leave you with the fucking tools, god left your ass with tools to be the best damn human on earth. All the shit is inside yourself take some time and be with yourself and learning about yourself."
