Jason Derulo sat down with MTV to offer a preview of his performance on the music network’s New Year’s Eve special this weekend. He said he’ll be entertaining fans with two hits from his current ‘Future History’ album.

“I’ll be doing ‘It Girl’ and ‘Don’t Wanna Go Home,’ a medley of the two,” Derulo explained. “[There will] be a lot of high-energy dancing.” Both tracks from ‘Future History’ reached the Top 20. The singer added that he’s ready for 2012 to arrive. “I cannot think of another way to bring the new year in than with MTV. I’m excited — new year, new beginnings.”

Derulo is stoked to be part of a lineup that includes Selena Gomez, Mac Miller and J. Cole. “It’s going to be a crazy show,” he said. “I hope you guys are tuning in because [there are] lots of great performers. You have different flavors from all around.”

Demi Lovato and ‘Teen Wolf’ actor Tyler Posey host the MTV New Year’s special, which airs live at 11PM EST on Saturday, Dec. 31.
