Jay Z has delivered some legendary freestyles on the radio over the years. Who can forget his lyrical display with the late Big L on The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show in 1995. In honor of Throwback Thursday, London radio legend Tim Westwood took his fans down memory and delivered an unreleased freestyle from Hov himself.

Recorded in 1999, the Brooklyn MC spits a blistering freestyle with lyrical snippets from his songs like “Come and Get Me,” “NYMP” and “Do It Again (Put Ya Hands Up)” over classic Marley Marl-produced breakbeats.

"I come through getting money / Sitting on 20s / Homies throwing me shade / Ain's s--- sunny / Hot shells is the only thing the industry can get from me," he raps.

It's always a treat to hear our favorite rappers spitting rhymes during their humble beginnings. In comparison, check out Eminem's crazy freestyle on Baruch College’s Solo Vibes radio show in 1997. Today, both of them are considered the best rappers of all time.

Listen to Jay Z's freestyle above and check out this rare performance of the former Roc-A-Fella Records founder rocking the mic at London's Notting Hill Carnival in 1997.
