Only one month after Rocawear let go of more than half of it's New York staff, Jay-Z will try to help save the company.

This will be the first ever TV ad for Rocawear, so it only makes sense that it's founder would be the star.

The ad, which tells the story of the Jay's rise from the Marcy projects to Madison Square Garden, will air on MTV, BET and during NBA basketball games.

The clothing line has been hit hard by the lousy economy, losing over $500 million in global sales.  The brand is also attempting an expansion into children's clothing.
