There is nothing more relaxing than sitting back in my house eating some good food, usually pizza and watching a good hood movie or a movie that stars a rapper. There are at a lot of movies like these and lets be honest, some are low budget and features a lot of horrible, but there are some that can stand the test of time. Ps these are MY personal favorite movies.

The 90's probably were the best decade for rappers starring in movies, and this movie was no exception. I think the reason this movie and the more popular "House Party" were so successful were because of the fact these two actors (Kid N Play) showed a different and more fun loving side of Hip Hop.

Will Smith was pretty much a household name due to his major success of 'Fresh Prince of Bel-Air'. But this movie was his starting point of becoming a silver screen mega star.

If you know me then you know I was a huge No Limit, and I'm Bout it was the movie that started Master P this small record label into becoming a huge empire. This movie wasn't really ground breaking and as you can tell the production wasn't that great. But this movie struck a chord with many underground fans and spawned many unnecessary copycats and one too many sequels.

Once again this movie isn't really ground breaking but the story is great along with the production of the movie mainly because it was funded by Roc A Fella Records. Plus rapper Cam'ron didn't do a bad job of playing Rico a drug dealer from Harlem who gets caught up in the fast life and becomes his own worst enemy.

Method Man & Red Man were well established hip hop icons and at the time and they had pretty much accomplished everything except the silver screen. In December of 2001 that changed when they released "How High".  The film had mostly negative reviews but it has a pretty much strong following and I have never personally met anyone that has disliked it.
