Justin Bieber Offered Contract to Play Minor League Ice Hockey
He shoots, he scores!
If Justin Bieber wants to abandon his career as a pop star, he has options for another line of work. He has been offered a contract to play minor league ice hockey with the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL.
It’s an interesting offer, since The Biebs hails from Ontario in Canada, where hockey is the national pastime, and the Condors hold court in warm and sunny California. The Biebs is mostly based in the Golden State these days, so if he wanted to accept this offer, it’s entirely feasible.
Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Matt O’Dette offered the ‘Boyfriend’ singer a single year contract after seeing a video of him skate with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
In a statement (courtesy of Press Party), O’Dette said, “Very rarely do you see this combination of skill and toughness. We share a common Canadian heritage since we both hail from Ontario. I’ve scouted some video of him online skating with my hometown team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, and I think he could provide some elusive speed up front for us. Plus, he’s a right-handed shot which we’ve been looking to add.”
It could be that O’Dette is looking to get some press exposures for his team by associating it with The Biebs. The contract offer could be a publicity stunt. Or perhaps he genuinely would like The Biebs in uniform as a Condor.
