In 2009, as Taylor Swift took the stage to accept the MTV Video Music Award for video of the year, the unthinkable happened – a probably-drunk Kanye West jumped onstage, interrupted the pop-country star, and said, "Yo Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'll let you finish, but Beyoncé has one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!" Then he shrugged and walked off.

Seven years later, the VMAs are giving Kanye four entire minutes to himself – and they claim they have no idea what he's gonna do with the time. TMZ reports that sources close to MTV production tell them Kanye will have free reign do whatever the hell he wants this coming Sunday, and they don't know what to expect.

Last year, they gave Kanye the stage and he launched into a long speech about, among other things, black erasure in media. It was an amazing moment to watch Kanye reclaim the stage and win back the hearts of the audience that didn't know how to handle his interruption back in '09.

"We not gonna control our kids with brands," he said in 2015. "We not going to teach hate to our kids. We’re going to teach our kids that they can be something, that they can believe in themselves. If my grandfather was here right now, he would not let me back down. I don’t know what I finna lose after this. It don’t matter though, because it’ snot about me. It’s about ides, bro, new ideas, people with ideas, people who believe in truth. And yes, as you probably could have guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020, to run for president.”

What could he have in store for this year?
