Kanye West Is All Smiles at Los Angeles Art Event Weeks After Hospitalization [VIDEO]
Kanye West made another rare appearance following his hospitalization. This time, he visited the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art’s Leadership Circle and Members’ Opening for the Rick Owens: Furniture exhibition on Friday (Dec. 16).
According to E! News, Yeezy was all smiles as he enjoyed the exhibit, which was designed by Paris designer Rick Owens and was produced by wife Michele Lamy. West was photographed chatting with Lamy while wearing a white long sleeve shirt with the printed words “Don’t Shun the World...Shed It,” black joggers, baseball cap and black Yeezy Boosts sneakers.
West’s wife, Kim Kardashian, wasn’t at the event and hasn’t been in the public eye since the Paris robbery back in October.
In the past few weeks since leaving the hospital, West has been very active. From recording new music in the studio to going on bicycle runs to meeting with President-elect Donald Trump. There's also rumors that the 39-year-old rapper will resume his Saint Pablo tour in January.
But some people have wondered if West is doing too much, too soon?
Dr. Jenn Mann, a Los Angeles-based family therapist, believes that West being out in public is a good start to his ongoing rehabilitation but stresses that he needs to recover in a stable environment.
“It’s important that creative people have creative outlets," she tells USA Today. "But more importantly, he needs to get proper care, get stabilized and have the support of his wife and family. Being near them is good for him."
“There’s no question that a music tour is not a super-stable environment," she continues. "[It's] very stress-inducing at a time when he doesn’t need that. But I also do understand that when you sign a contract, breaking that contract is also stress-inducing so it’s about finding a balance.”
Right now, it appears that Kanye West is getting back to his old self. Hopefully, through his recovery, we get to hear some great music from him.
