Karen Weaver Praises Miss Michigan For Water Comments

Flint Mayor Karen Weaver praised Miss Michigan for her water comments during the Miss America pageant.

In case you missed what happened at the Miss America pageant, and the ratings show you probably did. Emily Sioma stepped up to the mic to introduce herself to the crowd as Miss Michigan, but instead of a standard introduction, she dropped a water balloon of truth on the crowd.

Mayor Weaver took the time to comment to TMZ about the statement from Miss Michigan. Weaver applauded her for her comments, calling her brave for putting the people of Michigan first.

Sioma has commented since that her comment was not only about Flint, but about all of the water issues in Michigan right now. Those include PFAS contamination areas, Detroit Public Schools water issues, and Nestle pumping tons of drinking water for basically nothing.
