The Kroger store on Pierson Rd in Flint will be closing their doors next month.

August 16th will be the last day of business for the Kroger store and it's 85 employees.  The store has been one of the anchors of the Hallwood Plaza, but the lease on the space runs out in the middle of August.

Kroger announced that it would not renew the lease in the building, but the employees would be offered transfer orotundities in one of the other 11 Kroger stores in Genesee County.

This is one of the few big grocery stores on the North side of Flint.  Do you think it will leave many people hurting for a convenient place to shop?
