It seems as if all the heavyweight rappers invaded the SXSW festival this year. First, it was Jay-Z, then it was Kanye West, and yesterday (March 15) it was Lil Wayne‘s turn to rock the music festival in Austin, Texas. The Young Money superstar celebrated the launch of the #DEWeezy campaign with a promotional concert at Austin Music Hall.

Although fellow YMCMB cohorts Drake and Nicki Minaj wasn’t there for the celebration, Wayne made up for it with his rowdy performance. “I am here on behalf of Young Money-Cash Money, Trukfit, and Mountain Dew,” he told the crowd (as heard by Rap-Up). “And what I want you to do tonight is lose your f—ing mind.”

According to XXL, Tunechi went shirtless and performed a medley of his classic hits including ‘She Will,’ ‘Blunt Blowing,’ ‘A Milli,’ and his verse from DJ Khaled‘s anthemic ‘I’m On One.’

Even Birdman got a chance to rock the mic as he performed renditions of ‘Y.U. Mad’ and ‘I’m Still Fly.’ Wayne finally closed out the show with his verse from Drake’s ‘The Motto’ and ’6 Foot 7 Foot.’

The #DEWeezy campaign is a partnership between Lil Wayne and soda maker Mountain Dew, which revolves around Weezy’s passion for skateboarding. The initiative will including advertising, touring and the construction of skate parks in the rapper’s hometown of New Orleans. There’s also a social media component involved with the hashtag DEWeezy (#DEWeezy) to keep fans inform about various events and promotions.
