Lil Wayne is striking back after pharmaceutical entrepreneur Martin Shkreli previewed his unreleased Tha Carter V collab with Kendrick Lamar. According to the folks at TMZ, Weezy’s lawyers and Universal Music Group have sent off cease and desist letters to Shkreli in the weeks since he let loose another track preview from Weezy’s project.

Shkreli first previewed music from Tha Carter V back in December, but Weezy didn’t take action against him because Shkreli gave his word he wouldn’t leak any more snippets from the album. After Shkreli essentially broke his word a few weeks ago, Weezy and company decided to spring into action, threatening a massive lawsuit if Shkreli drops any more snippets from the album.

Sources close to Weezy reportedly believe Shkreli is merely seeking attention, but that won’t stop Weezy F. Baby from issuing a lawsuit if he should drop any more snippets from Tha Carter V.

At this point, Tha Carter V feels like one of the most, if not the most, legendary projects to never see the light of day. He dropped his Drake-assisted first single for the project, titled “Believe Me,” almost exactly three years ago, but—presumably in large part because of his ongoing dispute with Birdman—Weezy’s album still doesn’t have a release date in sight.

Will we be getting Tha Carter V any time soon? Who knows. But Shkreli’s social media accounts are the vessels through which we get music from the project, he could be in some huge legal trouble.
