It looks like Lil Yachty's got a little delay. During a recent gaming session he streamed on Twitch, the Atlanta rapper revealed that Lil Boat 2, which is the sequel to his debut mixtape and his debut album, Teenage Emotions, is going to miss its originally intended December release date.

"I'm not gon' lie to you guys, I know I told you guys December, I'm not gon' lie man, I'ma tell you guys the truth. At the rate it's looking, it's looking like January, you know, for Lil Boat 2, I'm sorry," Yachty says while playing Call of Duty WWII.

Elsewhere in the video, Yachty says he's sorry for the delay, but he wants to make sure his next project is a strong one. "I don't wanna put out Lil Boat 2 out and it's not good, you know?" he reveals. "When I put it out, I want it to be fucking good. I want it to be fire," he adds. "That's the only thing with Lil Boat 2, like...I'm scared to put it out and you guys not like it."

Lil Yachty's concerns are understandable. Although the former XXL Freshman has seemingly stitched himself into pop culture and earned more money than almost any other up-and-coming rap star over the last year, his debut album, Teenage Emotions, was met with lukewarm reviews. With videos like this one, it's clear he cares about the music he's putting out.

Check out Lil Boat's announcement below. It comes in at the 3:25 mark of the video.
