Lindsay Lohan recently said she's voting for Mitt Romney because "employment is very important right now," but leave it to her to have a paying gig -- and then bail on it.

Lohan has been working on the likely direct-to-DVD film 'The Canyons' for some time now and was supposed to make an appearance Thursday for an ADR (an audio-dialogue replacement session wherein actors overdub their own lines), but LiLo apparently never showed.

The movie's screenwriter, testy homephobe Brett Easton Ellis, was none too pleased about it, saying on Twitter, "Patrick Bateman just headed over to Lindsay Lohan's hotel to confront her as to why she missed her fu**ing ADR on "The Canyons" today..."

Of course a Lohan insider insists “she did not miss anything,” but that's a whole lot of vitriol for something that never happened. And since Ellis is most famous for writing 'American Psycho,' Lindsay might wanna make sure her datebook is in order. For her own safety.
