Man Robs Bank For Only $1 To Get Healthcare In Jail [Video]

A North Carolina Man named James Verone robbed a bank on June 9th not for money, but to actually go to jail so he could receive medical care. That's why he only robbed the bank for $1. Verone has a lot of medical issues that need attention and is unemployed and broke. He felt as though this was his last option.

Times are hard on a lot of people and 59 year old James Verone decided to take measures into his own hands. Here was his plan of action, he gave the bank teller a note...

"The note said ‘This is a bank robbery. Please only give me one dollar'. I started to walk away from the teller, then I went back and said, 'I'll be sitting right over there in the chair waiting for the police," Verone said.

He's hoping for a 3 year sentence that would get him health care in Prison and then when he's out he'll be eligible for Social Security. This was actually well thought out because currently he is receiving great medical attention according to Doctors.
