Meek Mill Might Take Shots at Drake on Hidden Lines From “1942 Flows”

On his new album Wins & LossesMeek Mill seems to mostly sidestep the two-year-old Drake beef that’s consumed too much of the attention around the Philly rapper’s music. The tactic has paid off with listeners (the album is already being considered one of Meek’s best projects), but there’s a hidden verse on the clean version of the album that sounds like it might contain some barbs directed at Drizzy.

The clean version of “1942 Flows” is a solid 30 seconds longer than the regular dirty version, and it’s because Meek adds a couple extra lines to the end of the third verse. Included in those extra lines are the following bars at around the 3:11 mark: “Heard they say I talk about my Rollie too much/But them flows you be using sounding stolen too much/500 on my neck, they say I’m glowin’ too much/Had to block that lil’ bitch ‘cuz she be blowing me up/You be doing too much, you only looking for attention/Swagger jacking, jackin’ niggas swag, that’s extensions/Came in the culture like a vulture, now you’re winnin’/But this is the beginning, double M the emblem.”

On “Lose You” from More LifeDrake wrote, “All you did was write the book on garbage-ass Rollies,” a line many took to be a shot at Meek. When Meek talks about flows “sounding stolen,” he might be referring to the controversy surrounding Drake sounding like XXXTentacion on “KMT.”

Meek’s been open about the beef with Drake in recent interviews, even admitting to being on too many drugs when it happened. For the most part, Meek’s moved on, and his music has only gotten better since the drama.

Listen to the clean version of “1942 Flows” below via Spotify and hear the hidden bars for yourself. Even if we can’t confirm they’re shots at Drake, it’s pretty ill to see a rapper hiding new bars in alternate versions of their songs.
