A group in Michigan marijuana supporters are looking to legalize marijuana and need your signature to make it happen.

The Coalition to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol has been approved to begin collecting the 252,523 signatures needed to get a measure on the 2018 ballot. The group scored the victory on Thursday and can now hit the streets to collect signatures.

The signatures must be collected by May 30th 2018 in order for the proposal to be put on the November 2018 ballot. If the group's proposal is approved marijuana would be legalized for recreational use in the state of Michigan. People 21 and older would be able to use the plant, but would not be able to consume in public or drive under the influence. If passed retail sales would be set at 10% excise tax and a 6% sales tax.
