There is a popular meme circulating on Facebook that shows an image of a couple of police officers with the caption “We Investigated Ourselves…And Cleared Ourselves of Any Wrong Doing.” Well, Michigan State Police are now investigating a couple of their own after they were recently caught on video punching and kicking a handcuffed man suspected of carjacking.

A resident in a nearby house secretly captured the video, which shows two officers beating the living daylights out of a man on a sidewalk. The suspect, however, was no stranger to crime. Prison records show that 51-year-old Andrew Jackson Jr. had some experience with assault and armed robbery.

Yet, it is apparent in the video, which was posted to Facebook earlier this week, that the officers may have stepped over the line in dealing with this particular incident. "They were pistol-whipping him," said Emma Craig, who posted the video. She also mentions that officers did find a gun.

Watch the video below and tell us what you think: Did Michigan State Police use excessive force or did the man get everything he deserved?
