Michigan tax officials are trying to cut down on tax fraud, so you may have to take an ID quiz before you get any money back from your Michigan taxes.

The Treasury Department is making the effort to cut down on tax fraud, and claiming that it will help protect Michigan tax payers from identity theft.

Instead of simply getting a refund check from Michigan, some tax payers will get a letter prompting them to take an online ID quiz.

After completing the ID quiz, and hopefully proving you are you, the refund will be sent within 2 to 3 weeks.

I'm sure that's exactly what everyone in Michigan wants to do . . . wait another two weeks for their money.
