Travis Scott is a certified superstar—but it wasn't always that way. The Houston rapper had to grind his way to the top. Frequent collaborating producer Mike Dean, who has been around since the early days, has seen the progression first-hand and recently noted how far La Flame has come in the last five years courtesy of an inspiring post on Instagram.

On Monday (Oct. 8), Dean was apparently in the mood to reminisce. The beat-making veteran uploaded a two-part video of Travis on his feed. The first visual shows a younger-looking Scott performing his song "Home" for a very modest crowd, only a few of whom seem really into it. Travis, on the other hand, is giving it his all and turning up while Dean captures footage from behind the DJ booth.

The second video shows Travis recently performing "Sicko Mode" in what looks to be a stadium with thousands of screaming fans in attendance. The videos are night and day.

"What a difference 5 years makes," Dean captioned the clips. "We came a long way @travisscott this gives all young artists hope."

Travis Scott has definitely come a long way from his Owl Pharaoh days to charting No. 1 albums. Last weekend was more proof, as the Astroworld rapper made his Saturday Night Live debut. The platinum-selling artist also appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
