The man responsible for running down Lansing firefighter, Dennis Rodeman, during a fundraiser, has been charged with murder.

22-year-old Grant Jacob Taylor has been charged with murder after he killed Dennis Rodeman with his truck, and tried to flee the scene.

Taylor was arraigned Thursday afternoon and also faces charges of failing to stop at the scene of a personal injury accident causing death, and two counts of fleeing and eluding.

Rodeman was collecting donations for the annual Fill the Boot fundraiser when there was some type of verbal exchange between he and Taylor.  Taylor then drove away, only to turn around and run into Rodeman.

The Lansing State Journal reports that police believe Taylor deliberately hit Rodeman.

Rodeman had been with the Lansing Fire Department for seven years after a tour of duty in Iraq with the U.S. Marine Corps. He married his wife in June and she is currently pregnant with their first child.
