The NAACP has filed a class action lawsuit against Michigan, including Governor Snyder and two firms that were responsible for testing the water quality.

The lawsuit is one of many class action suits filed against the state, and the city of Flint.

The NAACP suit looks to get the following:

  • Property damages
  • Pain and suffering damages
  • Emotional distress damages
  • Medical monitoring for Flint residents and businesses

In a statement released by the NAACP president, the goal and reason for the lawsuit were made clear.

Our organization stands with the citizens of Flint to demand a clear timeline, deadline and price tag for fixing this crisis as well as effective remedies for the harms that have already occurred and complete compensation for each and every victim of this unimaginable tragedy

The governors office has not responded to the lawsuit, but it may be due to the fact that he is busy dealing with all of the protestors outside of his condo.  Check out the ABC12 report about the lawsuit and protestors below.
