Nicki Minaj is ready to reclaim her throne and what better way to reiterate that than by stunning on the cover of Elle. In the intimate spread for the magazine's July issue, the Head Barb speaks candidly about her music hiatus, forthcoming album Queen and most notably her concerns with Instagram breeding a generation of "modern-day prostitutes."

According to Nicki one of the central messages behind her fourth studio album is that it is "okay to keep your legs closed." A timely reminder in a social media-focused age that glorifies what she considers to be "modern-day prostitutes."

“I don’t really know how to say that without being offensive,” she notes as a disclaimer before continuing her thoughts about strippers and Instagram girls. “Maybe I was naïve, but I didn’t realize how many girls were modern-day prostitutes.”

“Whether you’re a stripper, or whether you’re an Instagram girl—these girls are so beautiful and they have so much to offer. But I started finding out that you give them a couple thousand dollars, and you can have sex with them. I was like, Yikes. It’s just sad that they don’t know their worth. It makes me sad as a woman. And it makes me sad that maybe I’ve contributed to that in some way.”

Nicki, however, makes it very clear that she isn't chastising the women she speaks about, but rather she wants her fans to understand that she is the "antithesis of all that."

Elsewhere in the profile, Nicki speaks extensively about her newfound comfortability in being single following her public break up with Meek Mill.

“Becoming single was one of the things that made me feel strong and powerful," she said. "The fact that I am a young woman who doesn’t need a man for money. I don’t need a man for a job. I’ve never had to fuck for beats. I’ve never had to fuck for a record deal. I don’t have those pressures. I get up when I want, shop when I want.”

Her life's musings aside, the Queen rapper has recently dropped off a handful of bangers including "Rich Sex" which surely serve as taste of what to expect on the upcoming project. Nicki is also set to hit the road this fall with Future for their NickiHndrxx tour.
