Given the strength of its initial 2013 launch trailer, we weren't altogether surprised to see Netflix renewing 'Orange Is the New Black' for a second season before the first was even made available to view. It comes as even less of a surprise that the streaming service officially picked up 'Orange Is the New Black' season 3 for 2015, though their announcement method might have a few scratching their heads.

While we earlier heard that series star Laura Prepon would be back full time for a potential season 3, Netflix apparently opted to capitalize on the thread by allowing Prepon to reveal news of the official season 3 renewal over her Instagram account. The post simply said, "It's official!! Season 3!! #oitnb #alexvause #backtothebighouse," while a board in the photo displayed possible season 3 episode titles. Netflix since confirmed that the renewal announcement is accurate.

In addition to Laura Prepon’s season 2 involvement and Taryn Manning’s elevation to series regular, ‘Orange Is the New Black’ season 2 will see both Uzo Aduba (“Crazy Eyes”) and Danielle Brooks’ Tasha “Taystee” Jefferson similarly upgraded. Lorraine Toussaint joined the Netflix drama’s second season in a heavily recurring role as Vee, a longtime street tough who ran her own drug business, recruiting children to serve as runners, while ’90s ‘Tank Girl’ icon Lori Petty will appear in an unknown role.

We've included Prepon's Instagram post below, but what do you think? Is it anything but a no-brainer that 'Orange Is the New Black' will return for a third season in 2015? Season 2 will premiere in its entirety on June 6, so tell us what you want to see from the coming episodes in the comments!
