Polar Vortex Cancels Mail Delivery In Michigan Today

Through rain, sleet, snow, but definitely not through a Polar Vortex.

The Polar Vortex has settled over Michigan causing closings and delays as far as the eye can see. Governor Whitmer even declared an official state of emergency due to the extreme cold temps this week.

The temps are so dangerously cold that even the USPS has cancelled delivery service in all of Michigan today. I've never actually heard of that happening before!

The little mail trucks are unstoppable tanks that can power through most any road conditions, but the cold temps pose a different problem. Many mail carriers do a majority of their route on foot, spending a lot of time outside.
