Police Are Dealing With A Gunman Barricaded In A Grand Blanc Township Home

A scary situation is playing out in Grand Blanc township right now as police are trying to get an armed man out of the house after he barricaded himself inside.

ABC12 reports that the scene started at 8pm Wednesday night when the man fired his gun in the basement of the house.

The original police call reported that the man could possibly be under the influence of something. It's happening on Wallingford Drive near Brenthill Drive in Grand Blanc Township.

Luckily the family was able to escape from the home unharmed, but police say the man has not come out or responded to attempts to contact him. The state police emergency services team is also assisting at the scene.

UPDATE: 1/16/14 @ 7:43am. The suspect has surrendered to the police and the situation is clear!
