Police used tear gas and flash-bang canisters last night to disperse a group of hundreds of Occupy Oakland (Calif.) protesters that was calling for the crowd to retake a plaza by city hall. Once the tear gas and flash-bang canisters were used, the crowd of 500-to-1,000 people rushing away from the scene with their hands and handkerchiefs covering their faces.

Protester started chanting,

"the night isn't over til we take back the park," protesters in Oakland, CA stormed City Hall and swarmed the downtown area in an attempt to re-claim their protest site after being evicted by police in the early morning hours today. Police in riot gear were surrounded by the crowds and pelted with paint as many chanted "this is why we call you pigs."
