It's always great to see something good come from a tragedy. That's why the announcement of the Proof Foundation Scholarship is such good news. Check out all the details below.

High school students in the city of Detroit will now be eligible for a scholarship in the name of late rapper DeShaun "Proof" Holton. His foundation, founded in 2007 by his mother, will now be offering scholarships to high school seniors around Motown.

To be eligible, students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and be planning to attend either a two year or a four year college or university program. They must also write an essay on how they would curb violence if they were the Mayor of Detroit.

The first scholarship winner will be announced on April 11th after a candlelight vigil for Proof.

I think its only fitting to put up at least one video from a man who represented Detroit in life, and now in death.
