R. Kelly promised new music after he fully recovered from his throat surgery and now he's delivering.

Maybe there was a weird side effect from the anesthesia that cause R to think is was 1973.

That's one of the only reasons I can think of for his very "porn soundtrack-ish" retro sound to his new song.
