Michigan is one step closer to restricting Bridge Card users from using ATM's that are located inside of liquor stores, strip clubs or gambling establishments.

The Michigan House passed legislation this week with a nearly unanimous vote to push the restrictions forward.

Part of the movement is because people are complaining about the abuse of these cards, and some is financially driven from the government.  Under federal law, state's that don't restrict electronic transfers for welfare recipients can lose up to five percent of their federal welfare funding.

Only one member of the House voted against it saying that some people only have access to ATM's that are in the liquor stores near their house.

Do you think this is a necessary move or just another tactic to squeeze the financially strapped people that depend on the cards?
