Rich Homie Quan was roasted on social media after flubbing the Notorious B.I.G.'s lyrics from "Get Money" during Quan's performance at VH1 Hip-Hop Honors. Quan took the stage with Lil Kim to perform the Junior M.A.F.I.A. hit but clearly screwed up the late Biggie's lyrics to the 1995 hit.

“I assure you that I never intended to disrespect Biggie Smalls. I have long respected his work and his contribution to the rap game.I greatly apologize not only to Biggie Smalls, but also to all of my fans and to New York,” the rapper wrote in a statement on Instagram.

“The city of New York has been nothing but good to me. I felt honored to stand on stage with artists I grew up listening to.Once on stage I had some technical difficulties and must admit I got nervous," Quan continued. ”I will forever be sorry to New York, my fans, Biggie Small, Lil Kim, and all the Hip Hop community for my performance. I hope you can accept my apology. To Lil Kim, Thank you for the opportunity.”

Quan has been meme and mocked endlessly since the show, which took place last night (April 11) in New York City.

VH1’s Hip-Hop Honors celebrated the women who’d broken all kinds of ground in the genre, with visual tributes to rappers from across various backgrounds and eras, while artists like Lil Mama, Teyana Taylor and more performing tributes to the four honorees.

“All of these queens in this building, we built hip hop,” Latifah stated defiantly during the show. “We built hip-hop. And there’s no way that I can allow us to be erased from the history or the future of hip-hop.”
