Rich Homie Quan received a tidal wave of backlash after a video surfaced online showing him smoking weed while his son, Royal, was sitting on his lap. As reports surfaced that child services is investigating, the Atlanta rapper has issued an apology on his Instagram account.

In an heartfelt open letter, the "Type of Way" rapper realized the error of his ways and insists that he wouldn't do anything to hurt his son. He writes:

"First off, I would like to apologize to my son, (Royal) my fans and all the parents around the world. By no means would I do anything to hurt my son or any kid in the world. I regret that I chose to continue to smoke once Royal jumped in my lap. After looking back on it I realize my error and I am sorry for my actions.

I would also like to take the time to let people around the world know that this pedestal that I have been placed upon I do not take it for granted but I need people to understand that I am only human and I make mistakes just like anyone else. In spite of this situation I will continue to strive to be the best parent I can be. Thanks RHQ!!"

Reactions to the RHQ's missive were mixed. Some fans understood that he made a mistake while others felt that his apology wasn't sincere.

"Maintain your privacy. Them cameras and social media is bulls---," wrote one fan. "It's yo house and you blew the smoke away from the kid. A lot of people just hating." Another commenter wrote, BULLS--- if the world didn't light fire under his ass he probably wouldn't give a f---."

Whether you agree or disagree with Rich Homie Quan's apologetic letter at least he admitted that he was wrong and plans not to smoke around his kid anymore.
