Rick Ross, Meek Mill + Wale Are Dressed in All-White for VIBE’s ‘Juice’ Issue

Undoubtedly, the summer of 2012 belongs to the Bawse Rick Ross. The Maybach Music honcho and his elite duo of MCs Meek Mill and Wale cover VIBE’s annual ‘Juice’ issue (August/September 2012). While Rozay, Milly and Folarin hold down the front cover, other MMG members Stalley, Omarion and Gunplay are featured in the gate fold.

The whole MMG clan are abiding by the fashion rules of summer by dressing in all-white before Labor Day. The group brought the heat early this summer with their ‘Self Made Vol. 2′ compilation album in May and that was followed by Mill’s ‘Dreamchasers 2′ mixtape, which garnered a million downloads in a day. Now Ross’ is burning up the streets with his just-released album ‘God Forgives, I Don’t.’

In the VIBE cover story, MMG is described as Ross’ musical “Dream Team” looking for respect among rap empires like G.O.O.D. Music and Young Money. “We’re like some type of rock ’n’ roll super group,” says Wale of his crew. “Ross wants us to be bigger than him; he’s setting it up for us to be bigger. I wanna win so bad for Ross, because I see how hard he goes. This n—-a don’t sleep ’cause he wants n—as to win so bad.”

Meek Mill is clearly the matinee rap idol of Maybach Music Group. The 25-year-old Philly spitfire is ready to roar as hip-hop’s new young lion with his debut album ‘Dreams & Nightmares,’ which, unfortunately, won’t arrive in stores until the end of October, according to Hip-Hop Wired.

“I think I can be the biggest rapper in the game,” Mill says matter-of-factly to VIBE writer John Kennedy. “Ross is the boss of the team, but he’s not the limit to how far you can go. I got plans on being bigger than Jay-Z — and [Ross] wants that. Ross ain’t the type of artist that just wants artists under him. He loves to see me shine, he tells me that all the time. I don’t feel like I’m being used with Rozay. I feel like I’m being helped, and we’re working together as a team.”

For Ross, his team of proven rappers is a testament to his skills as a bonafide leader. When Rozay is asked if he sees himself hanging up the mic and eventually sitting behind a desk as an executive, he can’t ponder the thought. “I wouldn’t be able to tell you that,” he says. “I just love to be around music, in whatever capacity. If it’s just putting out artists or making music myself or producing, we have a lot of different things going on. I’mma be a big boy in this game for a long time.”

VIBE magazine’s ‘Juice’ Issue featuring Maybach Music Group will arrive on newsstands next week.
