Following his shady look on the cover of RESPECT. magazine, Rick Ross gets wild for this week’s Rolling Stone cover. We all know he’s not afraid to show off his heavily tattooed belly — but for the music publication the Bawse not only shows off his man boobs but his underwear, as well. Ruh!

Described as the rap game’s William Howard Taft (Google him), Ross speaks candidly with the magazine about his health scare last year and is previous occupation as a Florida State correction officer. RS writer Josh Eells followed Rozay through his hectic schedule of radio interviews and strip-club breaks to get the story.

When Ross was asked what caused his near-fatal seizures last year, the Miami rapper chalked it up to smoking the icky sticky. “I’m most definitely an avid user, a pothead, however you want to look at it,” he says. “I call it green caviar. It’s like a short vacation — it helps me chill out. And people really love it when I chill out, because I can really be a d—head.”

The topic of his past life as a correction officer also came up. When news broke that Ross used to be a C.O., many thought it would end his rap career. It didn’t. But despite later admitting that he used to wear a badge, he never discussed it at full length.

In the interview, Ross said that his job as a C.O. helped him retire from the street life after his best friend was locked up in federal prison. “This was my best friend, who I ate peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches with, and pork and beans with, my buddy, my partner, my number-one dude,” he recalls. “Suddenly I’m talking to him over federal phone calls. Hearing the way it was building, I knew I couldn’t take nothing for granted.”

“My homey’s father was a huge influence on my life, too,” he continued. “He was the one who was like, ‘Yo, go get a job somewhere, man. Go be a fireman. Or go be a fucking corrections officer. Just go sit down somewhere.”

Ross also touched on some topical issues of our times, particularly, the tragedy of the Colorado theater shooting and the debate over gun control (for the record, he’s pro-guns). “Such a cowardly act,” he says. “I think we all have a right to bear arms, whichever amendment that is.” Even assault rifles? He shrugs. “I got ‘em.”
