Few would argue about Royce Da 5'9's place as one of the best rappers in hip-hop. And when he's at the top of his game, there are only a select few rappers who could see him on the mic.

To further get listeners prepared for his upcoming project with DJ Premier, the Detroit rhymer rapped over Nas' classic "New York State of Mind," while on Funkmaster Flex's Hot 97 radio show.  Of course, the track was produced by Preemo, and stands as one of the defining productions of his career, but this go around, it serves to show just how great the chemistry is between him and Royce.

"Question? Are we bitter rivals, 'cause we can shoot the k's or the fade till both of our arms get vitiligo/I stay in my prime, y'all niggas just sipping on scotch/I stay with my nine, y'all niggas just live with your pops/I sit in the original, lyrical, pivotal spot/Even though I change with the time like digital clocks," Royce rhymes on the track

Royce and Premier's collaborative project, PRhyme 2, the follow-up to 2014's PRhyme, drops on March 16. In the meantime, check out how Royce handles the classic Nas track in the clip above.
