Run the Jewels pulled off their brand of a Christmas miracle and dropped their anticipated third album, Run The Jewels 3, three weeks early. The album comes just ahead of the inauguration for Donald Trump, making it even more timely and necessary.

"We couldn't help ourselves," Mike and El-P explained on Instagram last night. "It just feels right.

The album is 15-tracks long and clocks in at just under an hour. Danny Brown, Trina, Tunde Adebimpe of TV On The Radio and acclaimed saxophonist Kamasi Washington are featured on the project, which is led by the singles “Talk to Me” and “Legend Has It,” which is produced by El-P, Wilder Zoby and Little Shalimar. Singer Joi also shows up on the album opener, "Down."

“We return from the depths of the badland/With a gun and a knife in our waistband/Went to war with the devil and shaytan/He wore a bad toupee and a spray tan,” Mike spits on "Talk to Me" in an album full of socio-politically charged verses.

El-P and Killer Mike are set to go the “Run The World” tour starting in January in support of the album as well. The 33-city tour kicks off in January 2017 in Philadelphia before hitting D.C., Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Atlanta among other stops. The tour wraps stateside on Feb. 25 in New York. Gaslamp Killer, Spark Master Tape, and Cuz will also be featured on the bill.
