The sixth annual 'Make A Child Smile' toy drive is happening Saturday, and the need is greater than ever this year.

Everyone knows that the true spirit of Christmas is in the giving. That's what the Make A Child Smile toy drive is all about. For six years Flint native, T.Lee  and the Make A Child Smile toy drive committee have been dedicated to making sure kids in Flint have a great Christmas.

The Make A Child Smile toy drive is happening Saturday December 23rd at Bar Louie in Flint from 4pm to 8pm. The toy drive has always been a successful way for Flint natives to rally around our city, and help those in need. This year, the need is even greater as Flint struggles to recover from an extremely challenging year.

The toys donated on Saturday are immediately taken to the following Flint organizations to be put in the hands of grateful kids.

If you are able to drop off a new toy on Saturday, Bar Louie will hook you up with a free appetizer!

After talking to Theresa, it's obvious that the toy drive is more than just a way to help kids in our community have a great Christmas. That is definitely the focus of the drive, but it also is a way for people who care about Flint to connect and brainstorm ideas of how to help in other ways. For more information, check out the flyer for the event below.

I know that my family will be dropping off some toys, and hopefully you can find time in your holiday schedule to do the same. If you have questions or would like to be involved with the Make A Child Smile toy drive, call Kisha Cavette 810-877-1210.
