The tragic shooting in Parkland, Fla., has sparked a polarizing debate over gun control in America. While the debate continues to rage on, Snoop Dogg has chimed in with his thoughts on how to protect schools for mass shootings.

On Thursday (March 1), the Doggfather went on Twitter to offer his thoughts on protecting the schools.

“I feel like schools should be protected,” he tells his followers. “We have enough law enforcement that do nothing but ride around and look for n----s to arrest and harass motherfuckers. You can put them in front of the schools.”

"You could also have metal detectors at schools like they do in the hood schools," he continued. "That’s why you don’t hear about no shootings at the hood school, because we take provisions. Kids are supposed to be safe at schools.”

"This is Snoop just saying some suggestions to the president," he added. "Hopefully the motherfucker will listen with his hardheaded ass."

Snoop’s advice seems practical and a good pre-emptive measure for now. Although some are arguing that teachers should be armed, which is a misguided suggestion.

In the meantime, thousands of students and their parents will converge on March 24 in Washington, D.C., for the “March for Our Lives” rally.

"March for Our Lives is created by, inspired by, and led by students across the country who will no longer risk their lives waiting for someone else to take action to stop the epidemic of mass school shootings that has become all too familiar,” said organizers of the event. “In the tragic wake of the 17 lives brutally cut short in Florida, politicians are telling us that now is not the time to talk about guns. March for Our Lives believes the time is now.”
