Snoop Dogg's career has spanned more then two decades and produced 14 studio albums and so he is certainly worthy of any and all honors, and will follow up an induction into the WWE Hall of Fame this past April by receiving the BET "I Am Hip Hop Award" later this month. The network announced Tuesday (Sept. 13) that the S-N-Double-O-P will receive the honor at this year's BET Hip Hop Awards, which will air on Oct. 4.

The 11th annual BET Hip Hop Awards will be taped this Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta. T.I., Gucci Mane, Young Thug and Desiigner are all expected to perform with a Snoop tribute involving an array of west coast rappers likely planned as well. Snoop, who has reinvented himself as somewhat of a social media giant in recent years, has yet to comment on the announcement.

As for the evening's other awards, Drake dominates the nominations pool with 14 noms in categories including Best Live Performer, Lyricist of the Year, MVP of the Year, and Album of the Year for his platinum-selling fourth album Views. Future has 10 nominations in categories like MVP of the Year, Hustler of the Year, Made-You-Look Award, while Chance The Rapper was recognized by the network with nominations in three categories: Lyricist of the Year, Best New Hip-Hop Artist and Best Mixtape.

Light one up for Snoop in the name of longevity and ever-lasting impact.
