Right now you can't get away from Aloe Blacc's song 'The Man.'  It is on the radio, television, and on advertising scores.  Today, we get the music video which tells the stories of great moments of overcoming adversity. 

The visual treatment was directed by filmmaker Matty Barnes which as Aloe Blacc playing the role of historical figures in the 60's and 70's.  Aloe plays Marvin Gaye in 'What's Going On' in the open scene during race riots.  Then he's active in 'Selma to Montgomery March.'  Lastly, he reenacts Muhammad Ali's famous moment of leaving jail for refusing to fight in the Vietnam War.

'The Man' video showcase many occurrences in our history of overcoming tough times in American history, especially black people.

Aloe Blacc’s 'The Man' is featured on his upcoming album, 'Lift Your Spirit,' due March 11.
