An elderly man in Southfield actually died while voting this week, but the biggest surprise came when he was revived by an EMT on site, and he finished voting!

The man was getting help filling out his ballot from his wife when he became unresponsive and stopped breathing.  A home care registered nurse named Ty Houston jumped into action beginning CPR and what he told the Detroit News, happened next is amazing.

"He was dead," Houston said. "He had no heartbeat and he wasn't breathing. I started CPR, and after a few minutes, he revived and started breathing again. He knew his name and his wife's name." The first question he asked was 'Did I vote?'"

According to Houston, the man told his wife that there are only two things that are important to me: "That I love you and that I finished what I came here to do … vote."  Which he had done.

He was then taken to the hospital by an ambulance and is expected to recover.  If there is a more amazing voting story out there I would love to hear it!
