The Michigan Department of Education has signed off on the Flint Community Schools' revised Deficit Elimination Plan.

According to ABC 12, approval of the plan to reverse the district's $21 million deficit does have some strings attached to it. Flint schools will need to regularly communicate with the Department of Education, meet fund balance targets and submit monthly reports to the state.

The revised Deficit Elimination Plan had to be submitted to the state after the district over-calculated its fall enrollment by 60 students.
