A new Michigan State study finds that riding roller coasters just might be what you need to pass a kidney stone.

Two researchers from Michigan State University have found that riding roller coasters increases your chances of passing a kidney stone by 63%.

Patients have been telling Dr. David Wartinger of Michigan State University that after riding one particular roller coaster they were able to pass the kidney stone with ease.

Big Thunder Mountain roller coaster is now known as a coaster to ride if you want to pass a kidney stone according to patients who have rode the ride and have had stone issues.

Wartinger and his partner Dr. Marc Mitchell have also received reports that patients have had easier experiences passing kidney stones by bungee jumping and riding other roller coasters around the country.

After the research pair decided to test the theory out by putting an artificial human kidney made out of silicone gel in a backpack and riding on the now coaster at Walt Disney in Orlando, they determined that to increase the chance of removing a kidney stone after riding a coaster is to ride in the back of the coaster train.
