The Swartz Creek teen that caused a fatal accident last weekend has been released from jail, and the victims family is outraged.

The accident happened last Sunday night on US 23 when an 18 year old Swartz Creek man was driving the wrong way on the expressway.  He struck the car driven by Mariah Bailey-Collins, killing her.  Mariah was in the car with her new husband and 11 year old son, both of who are still recovering from the crash.

WNEM is reporting that Mundy Township police are not releasing the name of the 18-year-old driver but that was tested for alcohol but the results are not back. He could only be held for 72 hours, police say he was released while their investigation continues. Once the accident investigation is complete, the findings will be handed over to the prosecutor's office.

The tragic accident has immediately left many families torn apart, and wont get any easier when charges are actually filed.

In the meantime Bryan Collins (Mariah's Husband) has set up a donation fund to help pay for his brides funeral, and pending hospital bills for her son Kellar.  If you can spare any money at all, you can donate to help them through this tragedy by clicking below.
