T.I. is doing his part to shed a light on the injustice facing Black people in America. The Atlanta rapper's latest effort is video for his Us or Else cut "Black Man" featuring Quavo, Meek Mill and RaRa. The visual brings the lyrics to life as each MC speaks on the harassment they experience.

"Police see I got my hands up/Still wanna kill me, they don't understand us/They be looking for a reason just to shoot me/And wanna do me how they do us in the movies," T.I. raps.

T.I. spoke about his inspiration for the Us or Else EP during an appearance on The Daily Show. The veteran rhymer explained how he needed an outlet to vent about the tragic deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile.

"Over the summer, all of the travesties that took place in this country, I felt compelled to say something, do something," he said. "Out of a lack of other things to do, I just took to the studio and started speaking my mind. And it became a project out of nowhere. I just really want to create dialogue that will promote change."

The Daily Show interview also saw T.I. provide a response to criticism of violent lyrics in hip-hop. The "Motivation" rapper offered a solution to those who feel it is a problem.

"First of all, people need to take into consideration that hip-hop traditionally has always been a reflection of the environment the artist had to endure before he made it to where he was,” T.I. said. “So if you want to change the content of the music, change the environment of the artist and we won’t have such negative things to say.”

Make sure to check out T.I.'s Us or Else EP which is available for free streaming on Tidal. The content is something hip-hop fans need to hear as more Black men and women lose their lives at the hands of police.
