December 20, 2012 'Anchorman 2' release date was revealed by the Director, Adam McKay, on Twitter. Will Ferrell starred in the uber funny film Anchorman which was released in 2004. Ferrel and McKay are back to film making together that should produce another round of laughs.
Though they're still working on script, and should start filming shortly - even after releasing a teaser this summer - we only have a small inkling of what's in store for us when 'Anchorman: The Legend Continues' hits theaters next year. But now the picture has a release date, and it means only one thing: Will Ferrell is gunning for an Oscar.
Though 'Anchorman 2' isn't due out until sometime next year, and shooting has yet to commence, the script is being worked on and writer/director Adam McKay was out promoting something else when the sequel came up. He dropped some nuggets about the film, including that it's likely to have at least one musical number.
