Two shocking announcements were made at the Flint School Board meeting last night concerning a bigger budget deficit and Flint Northern closing for good.
Unfortunately Flint Schools cutting jobs and closing schools has been a very familiar headline lately, and tonight they will decide if more cuts and closings will take place.
The decision made Wednesday night by the Flint School Board is a tough one to accept, but Flint Northern High School will be closed at the end of this school year.
Reports are coming in of Flint Northern High School was on lock down due to a someone in possession of a gun in the hallways. According to Flint Police Operations page on Facebook, a black male was in the hallway with a gun screaming he was going to shoot everyone.
Flint Northern took the court against Beecher last night to kick off the high school basketball season, but the score is not the headline due to gun shots being fired in the parking lot during the game.
According to MLive, 150-200 students at Flint Northern High School walked out of school today in protest. The Students walked out of school in protest over the extremely warm temperatures inside the school building. Flint, Michigan has witnessed record breaking warm temperatures which has taken everyone in the area by surprise.
